It doesn't take much to feel better.

Our Modalities

These are the certified types of massage we provide.

Circulatory

Circulatory massage is a great way to start your treatment due to it's pressure variability and non invasive palpations. Circulatory massage helps to move blood and lymph throughout the body where movement might be stagnant.

If the patient has never had a massage, this is our suggested introductory modality, other more detail oriented modalities can follow.

Tui Na (Acupressure)

Tui Na (Twee-nah) is an ancient Chinese modality that works with the meridians of the body to release deep blockages where nerves and muscles may be bound with each other. Often using fingertips, elbows, and other parts of the hands, the therapist uses quick, patterned movements to achieve pain relief, proper nerve conduction, and mobility.

This modality is suitable for most patients and has varied pressure, but occaisionally acute discomfort may occur while in treatment due to release of tension.

Deep Tissue & Myofascial Release

Deep tissue massage in combination with Myofascial Release works to break up adhesions in the underlying tissues that may be causing pain or dysfunction. The large misconception is that these modalities are painful, when in fact they can be rather relaxing. The pressure applied is usually broad, and performed without any massage lotion so as to affect the areas without inhibitons.

These modalities are great at relieving many long-existing issue, but come with precautions that vary dependant on client contraindications.

Trigger Point Therapy

Firstly, what is a Trigger Point? A knot, adhesion, or Trigger Point are terms that can be used somewhat interchangably. When repetative motions or long periods of stagnation are present in the day to day, small fibers of muscle remain in contracture do to hardened fascia. This  is called Myofascial Pain Syndrome. To treat this, the pain referral pattern is mapped and the associated area is worked until the patient feels relief.

This modality is great for any patient without contraindications for moderate pressure.

Cupping Therapy

Similar to Myofascial release, Cupping Therapy focuses on releasing the adhesions in the underlying tissue. Additionally, when an adhesion occurs, it also stores toxins in said area which can create Myofascial Pain Syndrome. Cupping brings the toxins to the surface of the skin so that the body can release them through excretion. Sha, or Petechiae, is the resulting mark(s) which can last approximtely two weeks.

Cupping is a very effective modality but may not suitable for all patients, an analysis of possible contraindications must first be completed.

We're here to help your body feel better, not hurt your wallet.
